The Society for Promoting Participative Ecosystem Management (SOPPECOM) is organising a workshop on agro-ecological farming experiments that women farmers are carrying out in 6 districts of Maharashtra.
Attend this workshop to learn more about the experiences of women farmers engaged in challenging the mainstream paradigm in agriculture. and while doing so also challenging the structures of caste and patriarchy.
Hear from:
- Women farmers following the principles of agro-ecology or swavlambi sheti (self-reliant farming)
- Women developing their nutrition gardens and preserving local varieties of seed that are fast disappearing.
- Women fisherfolk bringing back the local fish breeds and creating an ecosystem suitable for them
- Joining in this discussions would be experts in the fields of seed conservation, climate resilience, organic farming, fisheries and livestock
