Programme for Social Action brings essential COVID supplies to the people
The healthcare infrastructure in India has crumbled as Indians face the brunt of the COVID second wave. As part of its overall response, AID has been working with the group “Programme For Social Action” through the campaign “Help India Hospitals”. The goal is to procure and distribute critical medical equipment and supplies to public hospitals around the country that need them urgently.

Community Health Centre in Mankadi village, Banaskantha dist., Gujarat, now turned into a COVID center. From partner Janpath (May 2021)
This effort has supported 10 hospitals across 6 different states thus far, distributing critical equipment such as ECG machines and multipara monitors, and essential supplies such as PPE kits, N95 masks, air mattresses and sanitizers. For example, this initiative is helping one of our long term partners Janpath in Gujarat, turn an unused Community Health Center in Banaskantha district into a COVID centre.
AID plans to continue to ramp up these efforts to reach other underserved hospitals through the campaign.
