Imagine a village with evening learning centers, libraries, science and tinkering labs, and sports with self defence training for girls. Not just that, but also homes for the most marginalized, livelihoods, and access to entitlements. Beginning with 100 focus villages (see red dots in above map) spread across an entire state of India. That would be a replicable model of transformation and at a scale that makes a noticeable impact. Something that can inspire and be a model for all other villages of India!
At AID we feel it is time to put it all together and up the stakes! Welcome to the first 10 Eureka Focus Villages! Seeing the potential, the Himanshu Shah Foundation has committed $46,000 to supporting 10 focus villages so that we can begin the work. With your support we would like to raise $69000 for 15 more focus villages so that we can launch the first 25 Eureka Focus Villages from Jan 1 2024! Your donation is an investment in an idea whose time has come!
The Himanshu Shah Foundation will increase its support every year, and based on satisfactory progress, has pledged a total support of $250,000 in the next 3 years. At $4600/Focus village for the Phase 1 (Education program – blue circles in above figure), it requires $460,000 to begin work in 100 Focus Villages. We invite you to see the future that AID sees for these villages, and appeal to you to support with all your might. And trasform this vision into reality.
The picture shows Tinkering Labs that are conducted by local cycle mechanics, plumbers, electricians, mobile repairers who become teachers and impart their amazing practical tech knowledge to these children. It costs $500/Village to establish the Eureka Science and Tinkering club. This is one component of the comprehensive education program with budget below.
