Over half the world’s most polluted cities are in India.   Forests are being cleared and “redefined” to make way for faster clearance, air quality levels are plummeting, and rivers are dying.  Industries and people’s health, livelihood and survival suffer as a result.

AID empowers people to take action to defend the environment by

Monitoring pollution and filing complaints: Residents collect air and water samples and voice their concerns

Promoting community control of natural resources through laws such as the Forest Rights Act.

Solidarity with communities fighting the impacts of toxic emissions, such as the Bhopal Gas Disaster.

Environmental Education in schools and community organizations.
