AID volunteer helps supply emergency equipment for Haryana hospital
Ravi Yadav is an AID volunteer in Detroit who is working with the District Hospital in his hometown of Mahendragarh in Haryana. Through a WhatsApp support group, Ravi found that it was in critical need of oxygen concentrators and other supplies. He got in touch with the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Minister’s Office, and then reached out to two groups, AID-India and Help Indian Hospitals. After some swift coordination, several critical supplies reached the hospital in time to save lives. This story was featured in several newspapers on May 22.
Here’s Ravi:
“In total we provided 29 equipments: 2 oxygen concentrators, 3 BiPAP machines, 3 monitors and 21 oxygen flowmeters within 10 days when the district administration was exhausted with all their options in peak time [of need]. This help wouldn’t have reached that hospital, if I wouldn’t have been part of AID. I can say one thing: TOGETHER we saved LIVES.”
