AID India celebrates 27 years of service

Celebrating 27 years of service, AID India field workers and project coordinators met in Chennai to take stock of accomplishments and ongoing challenges.  While the programs are most active in Tamil Nadu, teams have been extending components of the work with partners in Andhra Pradesh, Telanga, Orissa, Assam, Bengal, and Mizoram.

This precious in-person meeting brought people together to understand the stories behind the numbers that measure the impact of the various programs, such as number of children who have taken part in after-school programs or people who have gained livelihoods, or backyard gardens planted or new homes built.

Teams shared insights as to what made the programs successful and how to continue building upon the momentum and to bring the can-do spirit at every step, regardless of the challenges and obstacles that may come along the way.

Representing AID, Board member Srinivas Chadaram listened to all the presentations and as a guest, presented mementos to the team members.  He even got to handover the keys to a new Eureka home to Kailasam and Sanjeev, who hail from the Irular community in Tiruvallur district.
