A different story of reality on-the-ground

Confusion and a severe shortage of testing has been masking the grim reality in Karnataka.

SOCHARA, a Karnataka-based community health organization has reported panic buying in stores. Public distribution systems and small grocery outlets are being forced to close by the police, in spite of them being mandated as essential services. Government supplied awareness material is not reaching those who need it because of logistical issues.

SOCHARA needs funds to put together emergency relief packages and assistance to put together a telephone hotline for a tele-counselling service to provide mental health services.
