We are supporting Bombay Sarvodaya Friendship Center, who have been instrumental in distributing food to daily wage and migrant workers, slumdwellers, and PPE to health care workers in the city of Mumbai, which is a hotspot of Covid-19 in India. You can find previous updates about their work here.
Dr. Rahul Ghule, who has been running the 1rupeeclinic, an affordable health care clinic in Mumbai, received faceshields and PPE for the doctors at 1rupeeclinic through AID’s and BSFC’s support. That has allowed them to screen more than 100000 people in Mumbai while ensuring the safety of the doctors and health care workers. You can find more details in this Twitter thread. Their incredible work is being covered by BBC and other news media.
Here’s a picture of Dr. Rahul with faceshields and PPE which were made available to them.
We are also supporting 30 partners in 18 states of India, and have been supporting many PHCs and hospitals with PPE and faceshields. From 1rupeeclinic in Mumbai to Jan Swasth Sahyog in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, your donations have made a difference by making protective equipment available to health care warriors, where such equipment are in short supply.AID Responds to COVID Donate to COVID Relief Fund
