STORY SO FAR: Since  governments have done little to make NREGA work application forms widely available,  50% of the NREGA budget (of over 2 billion dollars) has remained unutilized in 2006-7.   In March 2007 AID-Orissa had performed street plays in Gosani Block of Gajapati District and facilitated NREGA work application form  filing. Under NREGA, jobs must be provided within 15 days to applicants or else unemployment benefit must be granted.

In Gandahati Panchayat the NREGA works have started  at ADAGAWN (Road work), GANDAHATI (Road work), S.LAUPUR (Road work) which has employed a large number of job seekers who applied motivated by AID Orissa. The Street Theater made an impact on the villagers and they started asking work to the panchayat office in Gandahati Panchyat.
