Today, about 100 workers from three panchayats of Raniganj block (district Araria) protested outside the Araria RS post office against the delay in wage payment by the postal department and paralyzed its functioning. Workers called off the protest after the Post master promised to send the funds to village post office within 3 days. The local police which was sent by Supritendant of Police (SP) to enquire about the "Jam'" that the gathering had created, promised to book the Post Master if he did not keep his promise.

A social audit of works undertaken in Bihar under the auspices of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and payments made to workers led to courageous villagers exposing various mal practices and corrupt dealings involved.  AID-Patna volunteers participated in the social audit organized by Jan Jagaran Abhiyan along with the District Administration, a first such joint apprisal of administration and civil society of Bihar's NREGA works.
