The mission of the project is to educate and empower villagers to engage in open meetings of Gram Sabha so that decisions about development are made by the stake holders and transparent implementation of development works is ensured. The short term goal is to create a people’s movement to force the government to bring about legal changes to fulfill the demands of the Swaraj Campaign. |

set up by rural women to enable them to be bigger stakeholders in the
processes of development at all levels. In its 2008-09 budget, Sangtin
seeks funding for capacity building
and ongoing mobilization in its villages; operational expenses;
publication costs for its newsletter; startup costs for livelihood

AID supports 20 full-timers in the project who are working on increasing awareness on RTI act and how it can be effectively used to fight corruption.
